ABOUT PINELLAS PARK ART SOCIETY (PPAS)

MISSION

At PPAS our mission is to create a society for all kinds of artists - beginners to professionals - to come together and express their creative sides. We believe in unlocking the creative within each and every one of us, and offer a wide range of classes, workshops and open studio for all members.

Whether you’re a professional looking for new inspiration, a brand new student hoping to learn a thing or two about art, or if you’re simply interested in picking up a new hobby, Pinellas Park Art Society is here to welcome you into the fold.

PPAS is a non-profit organization serving Pinellas County, FL since 1964. We support visual fine arts through classes, seminars, demonstrations, monthly art shows exhibits, off site exhibits, general meetings, open studio and community outreach. The media we teach include drawing in pencil, pastels, colored pencil, painting in watercolor, oil, and acrylic. We are open to many forms of visual fine art, and encourage new types of visual art.

SCHOLARSHIP

PPAS offers an annual Visual Arts Scholarship, in keeping with our mission to encourage and financially support the artistic endeavors of young people, to a deserving student who either intends to be, or is currently enrolled in a school of higher learning to pursue the study of visual arts.

This scholarship program is open to all Pinellas County students attending public or private schools, and to home-schooled students. The scholarship is based on artistic abilities and fulfillment of the application requirements. Students demonstrating financial need may be given preference.

In addition, the winning student will receive a one-year Pinellas Park Art Society membership, with the ability to network with our very own artists, receive information about upcoming exhibitions and workshops, and participate in the Societies activities.
